Catano
appointed co-chair of trade software subcommittee
Celeste
Catano, Senior Business & Technical Analyst at TradePoint Systems in Nashua,
NH, was recently appointed as Co-Chair of the new Trade Software Integration
Subcommittee, which is the software vendor committee for the new Automated
Commercial Environment (ACE). ACE is expected to revolutionize how US Customs
processes goods imported into the United States by providing an integrated,
fully automated information system to enable the efficient collection, processing,
and analysis of commercial import and export data.
As an integral part of the Trade
Support Network (TSN) Transition Committee, the Trade Software Integration
Subcommittee will address issues dealing with trade software and communications
interfaces with US Customs and
Border Protection (CBP), as well as other government agencies. The subcommittee
will act as a sounding board for proposals from ACE regarding technical and
software migration and will provide a trade perspective on ACE technical development.
For example, the committee will review implementation guides and notes prior
to being distributed to the trade.
A primary goal of the Trade Software Integration Subcommittee is to work with CBP and e-Customs Partnership (eCP) to ensure that the final technical products delivered to the Trade Community will be understandable and easy to use to help ensure the successful implementation of ACE.
One key advantage to becoming a member of the Trade Software Integration Subcommittee is that well have the opportunity to be at the forefront of what will be developed in ACE. This is a win-win situation for CBP/eCP and the Trade Community, said Celeste Catano. As the trade Co-Chair, I'll be working with Customs to organize, plan and run the committee meetings.
Ken Halle, Executive VP & COO at TradePoint said, TradePoint Systems recognizes its responsibility and the importance of actively participating in the TSN and this subcommittee. We are committed to achieving the goals set fort to ensure that ACE is successful and useful for all participants.
