Alliance
Imaging Promises Increased Automation & Productivity for Customs House Brokers
TradePoint Systems is proud to announce the release of Phase I of Alliance Imaging, an easy-to-use and low-cost system used to electronically capture and store every document that can be printed from TradePoint's Alliance Import or BreakBulk and Accounting systems during the course of Customs clearance work. These images can be displayed during file processing, emailed or faxed, or viewed by a Customs House Broker's customers or trading partners who utilize TradePoint's Internet Tracking System.
Alliance Imaging increases service levels dramatically by reducing electronically filing, storing and retrieving documents and sending document-specific information to a broker's customers and trading partners.
TradePoint developed Alliance Imaging to bring the benefits offered by imaging technology to its Alliance Import, BreakBulk and Accounting customers. This release of Alliance Imaging provides an automated process for the naming, indexing, storage and retrieval of electronic documents for viewing, printing, and even e-mailing by a Broker's staff. It is designed to efficiently capture the numerous Customs and business forms that can be generated by TradePoint's Alliance Import or BreakBulk systems.
Alliance Imaging also provides a means through which a Broker's staff can retrieve any document images that are related to the transaction being worked on. Users are then given the ability to view these documents on their screens, print them, and attach them to e-mails. These document images offer a crisp, clear reproduction of the hard-copy document, complete with all the details of the forms onto which they are printed.
Phase
II
Phase 2 of Alliance Imaging (expected release date of August 2001) will extend
its capability to TradePoint's Alliance Export system and will incorporate the
capacity to introduce outside source documents (non-Alliance documents) into
the Alliance Imaging process. These documents may be received into the system
in any number of media, including fax, e-mail or scanner. Upon receipt, a system
operator will name and index the electronic image document(s) according to the
conventions established within Alliance Imaging, and the documents will then
be permanently stored on disk drives on an NT system.
Phase
III
Phase 3 of Alliance Imaging will offer automated routing of source documents
to business operations staff based upon a predefined set of rules. Users can
then display the documents in a split-screen format for data entry or annotation
purposes.
Utilizing the latest technology to increase productivity and customer service is proving essential to the success of Customs House Brokers and Freight Forwarders. At TradePoint Systems we are dedicated to assisting our customers in their efforts to increase both their productivity and customer service levels, while keeping costs low. We believe that our integrated technology approach - where we continually develop and introduce productivity tools that permit our customers to access, manipulate and take advantage of the wealth of information contained in their Alliance Import and Export system databases - will meet those competitive challenges in the years ahead. Our Alliance Imaging system is an example of one such tool.
