eVENT Promises Increased Automation & Productivity for Customs House Brokers

TradePoint Systems is proud to announce the release of eVENT, an easy-to-use and low-cost "event management" system that complements TradePoint's Alliance Import and BreakBulk systems. eVENT increases service levels provided by Customs House Brokers to their customers and cuts costs dramatically. The system tracks specified shipment dates within the Broker's Alliance database and automatically sends fax or e-mail alert messages to their customers and/or trading partners when any dates specified either occur or fail to occur.

eVENT permits the Broker to build and send an unlimited number of customized event alerts to any given customer. Rather than reacting to customer calls about shipments that typically require the Broker's staff to stop what they are doing, query for information, and then communicate that information back to the client, eVENT permits the Broker to proactively and automatically provide that information to its customers without human intervention. The system also lets the Broker manage by exception - Brokers set the levels of service they want to establish for each customer and then have eVENT notify them when that level is not being met.

With eVENT, the entire process of identifying critical shipment dates and creating appropriate alert messages can be handled by non-technical personnel with little time and effort. Criteria used to trigger an event alert can consist of a change of any shipment date or change in a list of user-specified dates, or the existence or non-existence of a shipment date. Each event can be further filtered to exclude Modes of Transportation and/or entry types.
