TradePoint is First to Utilize Customs Proprietary Format to Transmit SEDs to AESDirect through the Internet

TradePoint Systems LLC (formerly ASA International) has once again confirmed their position as one of the leading providers of IT systems to the Freight Forwarding & Customs Brokerage industry. Earlier this month, TradePoint was the very first company to successfully use the Customs Proprietary Format to send Shipper's Export Declarations via EDI upload to AESDirect through the Internet.

AESDirect is the U.S. Census Bureau's free, Internet based system ( http://www.aesdirect.gov ) for filing Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) information to the Automated Export System (AES). It is the electronic alternative to filing a paper SED, and can be used by exporters, forwarders, or anyone else responsible for export reporting.

"We appreciate TradePoint's invaluable assistance and advice in helping to test this new capability", said Bob Foley of AESDirect. "As a result of their participation in the testing process, we are now able to certify TradePoint Systems as an AESDirect Certified Software Vendor."
