TradePoint Integrates Denied Party Screening with Brokerage & Forwarding Applications

Hot on the heals of the introduction of compliance systems to manage the 24-hour Container Rule and the FAST program initiatives, TradePoint Systems LLC has announced the integration of Denied Party Screening with its Customs Brokerage & Freight Forwarding systems. This is a first in the industry and will give TradePoint's Brokerage and Forwarding clients the ability to perform due diligence and run Restricted Party Screening checks on their customers and vendors through TradePoint's Compliance Solution (ECS) engine. These checks help to ensure the practice of "Reasonable Care" standards for exports and imports, and reduce exposure to penalties & fines associated with doing business with parties under sanction.

With this new interface users of TradePoint's Customs Brokerage & Freight Forwarding system(s) can flag/select the customers/vendors to be checked (entire lists or individuals). A query is sent to the ECS data store via the Internet and the results returned update audit files and the customer/vendor database of the Brokerage/Forwarding system(s). If the response received is other than "OK", it will be considered as a Denied Party and the customer/vendor will be placed "ON HOLD" preventing any future transactions.
