PeopleSoft Upgrades Connection for
Electronic Procurement PeopleSoft Inc. has enhanced its supplier-relationship
management (SRM) system by offering direct connectivity to its
eProcurement software through the Perfect Commerce Open
Supplier Network (OSN). The service builds on an existing
partnership with Perfect Commerce, creating the Perfect
Commerce OSN Connect for PeopleSoft. According to the vendor,
customers gain rapid access to suppliers, reduced transaction
and material costs, and simplified supplier enablement. They
can connect to suppliers that have limited technical ability,
automate the source-to-settle process with one comprehensive
system, and reduce purchasing transaction costs. Users obtain
unlimited access to the Perfect Commerce OSN for a wide range
of transactions, without having to pay ongoing subscription
and transaction fees. The Perfect Commerce OSN Connect for

year. http://www.peoplesoft.com/
BridgePoint Ties Document Transfer to
Orders and Shipments BridgePoint Inc. is now offering iPlex Doc Attach as
part of its iPlex Transport Process Management Software. Users
can upload and download documents and relate them to specific
orders and shipments. As a result, orders can be processed
faster, saving financing charges and courier fees, and
eliminating the need for hard copies and a multi-step
acceptance process. iPlex Doc Attach also offers buyers and
suppliers the ability to share manufacturing specifications
for items within an order. Logistics service providers and
carriers can upload scanned signatures on manifests and
receive documents as proof of delivery. Country-of-origin
documents become more readily available in order to better
meet import and export regulations. Other document attachment
functions include security, with access restricted based on
the assignments of various users; alerts for both orders and
shipments, to inform designated users of new and updated
attachments; and events, whereby the uploading of documents
can be set on a schedule within the application as an expected
event. http://www.bridge-point.com/

Dassault Inks Partnership for Open Standard
Based on XML
Dassault Systemes and Lattice Technology have formed
a long-term partnership, allowing Dassault to utilize Lattice's
systems for creation of a universal 3D extensible markup
language (XML) open format for product lifecycle management
(PLM). Lattice becomes a Software Community Program partner
of Dassault, developing and selling a suite of technical
publication applications based on Dassault's CAA V5 (Component
Application Architecture Version 5), enhanced with the new
open format. As a result, users will be able to generate
3D manuals, parts lists, marketing brochures, assembly instructions
and parts databases. The system will help to create 3D interactive
Web pages or office documents enabling users to combine
3D data, 2D images, structured data, text and graphics together
in a single lightweight document. The applications will
work either connected with Dassault's SMARTEAM or ENOVIA
databases, or in local mode. 3D XML for PLM will let users
create and share live 3D V5 data quickly and easily in a
lightweight XML format, the partners said.
