TradePoint acquires
ClearCross products JoC Online

TradePoint Systems
LLC, a provider of software applications and
services for customs brokerage and forwarding,
said it has acquired several product lines from
ClearCross, Inc., the Reston, Va.-based supply
chain technology company.
TradePoint, of Nashua,
N.H. has acquired the software products and
certain other assets, along with the right to
continue product development, enhancements and
support of all existing ClearCross customers.
Employees associated with these product lines have
become part of the TradePoint staff.
In January of 2002 TradePoint acquired an
exclusive licensing arrangement to take over
support, sales and continuing development for
certain Questa and SPEX ClearCross customers in
the U.S. and Great Britain. The latest agreement
transfers over 100 additional customers in the
U.S. and Europe, as well as assets and ownership
for these product lines, along with several other
product lines:
· Questa, an integrated
products suite for brokerage, forwarding,
breakbulk, and other associated services, has been
renamed CargoPoint.
The deal also includes
SPEX, an export documentation system; DPS, an
export management system; GLS, a large-scale
logistics system for the cross border movement of
products. Also included are compliance system ECS,
and Importer, which provides product parts bank,
rating and landed cost calculations to importers
TradePoint has offered
employment to all employees currently involved
with these product lines. In the short term, all
of the ClearCross employees have agreed to
continue working for TradePoint.
