Air Message Maintenance

Overview

The Air Message Maintenance database maintains the messages to be printed on air waybills.

Note:  You can do a lookup to the Message maintenance table from the Message field on the General and Carrier Entry screens.

Procedure

To build or maintain Air Messages, complete the following fields.

Field Name

Data Entry

Description

Message Code

Enter a 5-digit alphanumeric Message Code.

This code is associated with the message.

Message

If the message already exists, the message text will display in the Messages box. No data entry is required.

If you would like to create a new message, double-click on the Red Arrow.

Note:  This is a display only field.

This is the first line of the message that can be printed on the bill of lading. Once you have created messages, the first line will display here for verification when you enter a message code.

The message selected on General Entry screen will print in the cargo description area of the house and master air waybills.

Red Arrow

Click on the red arrow to the right of the Message field to select the message box. Enter up to an 8-line message.

The Red Arrow allows you to maintain the messages, either editing current messages or adding new ones.

Blocked

Select this box or leave it blank.

This field enables/disables this record from being used for a shipment.

OK or Cancel

Select OK to update the changes you have made.  Select Cancel if you would like the system to disregard any changes you have made.

Selecting OK or Cancel will close the window.
