Overview

The Air Package Type Maintenance database lets you define the types of cargo to be included in your shipments.

Note: You can do a lookup to the Package Type maintenance table from the Pack Type field on the Packages screen.

To build or maintain the types of cargo included in air shipments, complete the following fields.

Field Name	Data Entry	Description
Package Type	Enter a 2-digit alphanumeric Package Type code.	This is the package type code.
Name	Enter the name of the package type.	This is the name that will display for verification purposes when the package type code is entered.
Behavior	Click on the arrow to the right of this field to select a behavior option.	This option defines how Alliance will calculate the freight charges for a package type. The Behavior options available are: · Container · Pallet · Regular Note on Regular option: Use the Regular option for anything other than a container or pallet. If you select this option, the freight charges will be calculated according to the chargeable weight of the cargo. Otherwise, the freight charges will be calculated according to the number of containers or pallets.
Blocked	Select this box or leave it blank.	This field enables/disables this record from being used for a shipment.
OK or Cancel	Select OK to update the changes you have made. Select Cancel if you would like the system to disregard any changes you have made.	Selecting OK or Cancel will close the window.
