Ocean Grouping Charge Maintenance

 

Overview

The Ocean Grouping Charge Maintenance database maintains service type items (e.g., carrier surcharges) that appear on the customer invoice for the freight. You can use this maintenance to define the relevant codes for grouping charges, and the service type for each code to be included for the freight on the invoice.

Note:  You can do a lookup to the Grouping Charge maintenance table from the Grouping Charges field on the Package Entry screen.

 

Pre-requisites

You must build the Service Type maintenance before using the Ocean Grouping Charge maintenance.

 

Procedure

To build or maintain Ocean Grouping Charge file information, complete the following fields.

 

Field Name

Data Entry

Description

Grouping Charges Code

Enter the 2-digit alphanumeric Grouping Charge code.

This is the grouping charges code.

Name

Enter the Grouping Charge name.

This is the name or description of the grouping charges. It will display for verification purposes when the grouping charges code is entered.

Blocked

Select this box or leave it blank.

This field enables/disables this record from being used for a shipment.

Service Types Included

Double click on the arrow or the field to select a service type from the lookup table, or enter a service type.

Note:  Use the Add Occurrence button at the top of the screen to add all associated service types.

The service type to be included in this grouping charge.

For example, you might include in a charge grouping the following: terminal charges, currency adjustment factor, and fuel surcharge.

OK or Cancel

Select OK to update the changes you have made.  Select Cancel if you would like the system to disregard any changes you have made.

Selecting OK or Cancel will close the window.
