Overview

The Ocean Vessel Maintenance database maintains vessel information that is used throughout the Alliance Export system.

Note: You can do a lookup to the Vessel Maintenance table from the Vessel field on the Voyage Entry screen.

Pre-requisites

You must build the Carrier maintenance before Ocean Vessel.

To build or maintain vessel file information, complete the following fields.

Field Name	Data Entry	Description
Vessel	Enter up to a 5-digit alphanumeric vessel code.	This is the vessel code.
Name	Enter the name of the vessel.	This is the name of the vessel which displays for verification purposes when the vessel code is entered.
Carrier	Double-click on this field to select a carrier code from the lookup table or enter a valid carrier code.	This is the carrier code associated with this vessel. Note: Once a vessel is associated with a carrier, Alliance uses this information on the Voyage Entry screen to verify that you entered the correct vessel with the correct carrier.
Blocked	Select this box or leave it blank.	This field enables/disables this record from being used for a shipment.
OK or Cancel	Select OK to update the changes you have made. Select Cancel if you would like the system to disregard any changes you have made.	Selecting OK or Cancel will close the window.
